FAQ’s

Have some building questions for us?  You're in the right place...

Q?

Do you build post and beam homes?

A.

Yes. We love post and beam projects. Post and beam homes, as well as rustic homes capture the true essence of our region. Beautiful logs display the natural beauty of the wood, while the structure itself provides a strong and almost towering presence. Have you ever caught yourself staring into the vaulted ceilings of a post and beam structure? We do it all the time. Make sure you look at our portfolio gallery to see some of the timber frame homes we have built.

Q?

Do you build docks and boathouses?

A.

Absolutely. Docks and boathouses are both fun and challenging. You want a design that is functional, but does not detract from the natural beauty of our surroundings. Then you have the challenge of working around the water while not disturbing the natural balance of the land. We live within the "blue line" so we understand the unique regulations that need to be followed.

Q?

Do you provide custom contracting services?

A.

Yes. In fact, they're our favorite. Schrader General Contracting, Inc. can help you with everything from custom boat house to custom kitchens. Maybe you’re looking for custom tile work with inlays, a wine cellar, rustic stairways or railing, or notched posts and beam work. Whatever it may be, if it's a custom contractor you need, call Schrader General Contracting, Inc.

Q?

What regions do you serve?

A.

We love Building in the Adirondacks. We serve the Tri-Lakes Regions: Lake Placid, NY, Saranac Lake, NY, Tupper Lake, NY, Keene Valley, NY... well, you know. Basically, if you live in the central and northern part of the Adirondack Park, we'd love to learn about your building project.

Q?

What Services do you offer?

A.

Schrader General Contracting Inc., can handle all aspects of commercial and residential building projects. Our years of knowledge, experience and education, combined with our network of specialized subcontractors allows us to handle every job efficiently, and with the highest standards for quality.

Q?

What exactly is a “General Contractor”

A.

A general contractor can also be called a builder. A general contractor runs and oversees the entire building process. The general contractor and his crew make sure the construction project is constantly moving forward. They most often work with other specialized contractors who have specific skills, knowledge, and tools for a particular trade; whether it is plumbing, electrical work, tile work, etc.

The general contractor can handle all aspects of the job, but working with other specialized contractors who perform specific tasks every day, the project is completed more efficiently.

Q?

Do you provide commercial contracting services?

A.

We provide both commercial and residential contracting services. Schrader General Contracting Inc. does almost all of it and supervises what we don't.
